Kannawidan

            Our province’ culture, traditions, beliefs, and others are widely known to us and are being more widely disseminated around. This we know how the literature of Ilocos Sur is very rich and adherent to us. Even though it is now considered a thunderbird, still we do those we have in the most important and most celebrated event through the years, Kannawidan Festival.

            Perhaps, you reader are aware this Kannawidan. From the origin of our history, we are doing the things we, Ilocanos, are used to until now, which we call Kannawidan. Things before maybe sort of significantly antiquated to now. But what keep Ilocos Sur alive and widely known for its natures are the cultures, traditions, and other practices we yearn.

            Kannawidan Festival 2014 was recently celebrated this January to February. People got along to be stuck to different commodities, activities and shows because it’s really amazing and nostalgic. Nobody would find this lackadaisical or boring. Guaranteed, you would have found this jocund.  You would have surely indulged yourself to those very good and beautiful events like Trade Fair which attracted people to buy variety products of every municipality of Ilocos Sur (OTOP). There was also contest for the biggest and smallest and bizarre products and even animals of within the borders of Ilocos Sur. There was also this Sanata ti Ylocos which was conducted in the Quirino Stadium. You’d have witnessed the hidden beauties of Ilocos Sur that carry their beauty and brain with so much confidence.

            Kannawidan Festival involves so many things, noting could ever fathom. With those, they give us plenty of pleasure and entertainment. Whereas, the real purpose of this celebration is to tell us that we are rich in culture, traditions, and that we are valuing and cherishing the significant role of literature to our society, Ilocos Sur. 

Coup d' oiel

                

Time is really being parsimonious. How could it be this utmost chapter that I am now enduring myself? Well, that’s life. It doesn’t always mean its morsel, no perks. No!

                This fourth grading period, I only had a glimpse to a known topic before which is all about the Photoshop. I had a little bit hesitation when I knew that we will be tackling this AgaiN, ‘cause before I am very poor with this on Second Year. But then, we started over the topic; from the basic fields like tools and its uses, then steps in certain editing. Somehow, I managed to hent this vest knowledge of Photoshop, I realized that it’s just quick and easy to use and do. I learned how to reverse images like beautiful/ handsome people to funny ones. It’s so fun exploring and getting busy with Photoshop.

                Photoshop will forever be a big part in my life. Although it was about more or less two weeks I lodged in the horizon of this ultimate Photoshop, I still was able to embrace its greatest, labyrinth things that I call for now. Short time I only had but I exited from it with fulfillment of this knowledge it gave me.

|CHANGE| IT STARTS WITH ME

     The past, present and the future are the chapters of life. Flaws were marked, likewise, the past can never be erased. Where I stand now, life shines against me giving the chances to do things well and, so quell reluctant things I do! Predictions or maybe even fortune-telling can be enunciated for the future, but responsibility is the only real and permanent thing I could do for a reason, change.

       Past. I’ve been through things that are good or bad. In the negative side, basically, this is the reason why I live still until now. I can say that the past has been a variant passage of life. There are these things I dwelt for good, on the other hand, for bad. Now, the bad things in the past pushed me until this day because they inculcate me to change now, a change for the future.

       For my sake and ease, change must start with me not from others. Or, for the most in this society or in this world, I must start the change. First, with me. I must start the change regarding my values and characteristics towards others, physical attributes and others. In general, I must start changing myself to a better one. Second, with the most. For me to be specific, the unstable problems nowadays are global destruction and crisis. Now I say, everyone is responsible youth. You and I can start the change for our sake. Global warming, wildfires, icecaps melting, earthquakes, tsunamis, typhoons and pollution; we are the only host to where we exist. We’ve gone so far to cause destruction on our own. Let us all do the ways unceasingly to possibly change our world to betterment and, so, we live anew.

       Anytime, anywhere, anyone like me can start the change. No matter what happens, even if I will get shattered resisting the strongest obstacles, after all I did my part in making and fighting for the change. 

MY DREAM | MY FUTURE

     From now, I am dreaming myself adrift along. And with that, I better prepare myself in fulfilling another attribute for the next journey. This is a good perspective for me to reality because I become more enthusiastic and push forth myself to it.Thus, it's a good way in seizing something for a bright future. I may encounter weaknesses but I'll never let anything in this world pull me down by these, instead I'll make that perceived weakness into strength to be successful.

     Aftermath the difficulties, challenges and trials in my educational journey I will have realized life is beautiful, though full of ups and downs, nevertheless, I will have reaped what I sew, hence, without those my life wouldn't be that great. "Life is by chance," some tend to say. But for me I defy what they say, which is very untrue; you are the one and only making your own fortune.

     Twenty years living in school would be an eon suffering. Determination, courage, strength, discipline, optimism, faith and hard work are the values I have will be my backpack. I will have finished marine transportation at NYK-TDG Maritime Academy, then Captain, so far. I will be controlling ships someday along the sea. Maybe, maneuvering to haul nets of fiches or crabs, or manage ships for transporting goods and people. So, Ship Ahoy!

     Whatever dreams you are fulfilling, do everything good and right you know. You will become someday you are dreaming for. Maybe not the exactly time you expect but someday. Like me, I am confident that I will become a Captain someday.

New Year.. New ME

           As we prepared celebrating and welcoming for a new, prosperous and happy new year, like putting delicious, delicate and savory foods and wine dine, scattering coins on the floor, opening all the window panes, dressing in the new bough ten clothes, even getting dressed to kill, and everything, at the same time, we, of course, had prepared ourselves for a New One in a New Year.

          Every one of us tended buying lucky tokens and ang paos before year 2014 will have come as believed to bring luck and good fortune to a new life. For me, on the other hand, it’s just simple and basic. I just had to set myself for something commitment. Set myself for a new one. What came to my mind is that how and in what way I will set myself for a new one. First is that my physical aspect. Being physically fit keeps you healthy. Attaining this aspect by doing more exercises and some sports builds up body and even increases resistance. I have to do these things so that I will always be prepared for anything regarding physical attributes. Second is that being optimistic. What stresses people much is that having negative perspectives. This is futile for us to spend time with. So, I will think positive in any ways so that everything will be easy and fine and in proper direction. Third is that being more benign. I will be more gentle some things and to people. I will be gentle to talk and treat people and I will be using my accessories and devices gently. And I will be more kind to those who are kind or not to me. I will give and share anything I can to those who is in need; just a helping hand or money matters, if so.

          Those are just my commitment to set myself for a new one this New Year. It’s not so many as other people do but I will be probable to commit those things. It doesn’t matter how few or how many commitment to take a person completely new. As long as you know you are good the previous year and will be permanent, live anew by committing to other things you can be. New Year has come, have you ever witnessed the New Me yet?

REFLECTION 3

                   Third Grading Period should be remarkable. I significantly learned HTML more. I thought HTML would only be until textual work but images are present that give life to my works.
                    I was able to seize well HTML since ICT was moved to 1-2 PM. Things like HTML works to be done were figured out to be finished at time. In HTML, I learned how to put images, format font face, size and alignment, linking an html file to another and everything. I managed to finish all the activities and even my blogger. 
                   The beauty and amazement of HTML made me realize that life is like this when discovered. That if you managed to make HTML works enthusiastically, you will see more your work worthy than what you expect. So, I will continue forward to discover new coverage of ICT.

Christmas Abundance

                Most of the people often fail to realize what the month of December ought to bring us. Attributes to the uncertainty of people to what the breezy and cold air of December could be a lot of things but the message it relays is quite simple.

                Christmas holiday is composed of different decorations and it really is. We are accustomed this way of celebrating Christmas. Tangible things that symbolizes Christmas are Christmas tree, presents, Christmas lanterns, Christmas lights and Christmas bites. We put up our beautiful Christmas trees, we give gifts to our loved ones, Christmas lanterns we hang beneath, Christmas lights that flickers the entire night and Christmas bites we savor.

                We dissect “Christmas” and what we get is “Christ” and “mas” which means birth of Christ. Yes, Christmas is the celebration for the new-born king. We put up our decorations for this most joyous month of the year. However, have you ever wondered why December is a zephyr time? It’s time to live out the true essence of Christmas. The breezy and cold air brings us the chilling and trembling feelings. A hug, which is the medicine, keeps us warm. Telling us how important our loved ones are to our lives.

                So it’s not just about materials that make up Christmas. The aura of sharing and giving, forgiving, benignity to everybody,and giving jubilation and love are the most important. Of what I've stated above, hug is an example of the foundation of living out the true essence of Christmas. Which means behind this holiday is love, peace and joy. Christmas should be abounding in these.

Let Us Change

Climate changes and that really happens. As, annually, climate changes on time. Climate change is perfectly seasonal, BEFORE.

       Climate change is the weather condition we happen to experience as usual. Either this will give good or bad effects. This must be a cycle but it must have been caused by global warming. Global warming is made when people burn trees and plastics causing the atmosphere trap the heat because of carbon dioxide.

Now we're experiencing different phenomena like floods, super typhoons, global warming and others. Floods occur because there are no more enough trees to absorb the water. Super typhoons occur because the climate over-changed. Global warming occurs because there are no more trees to absorb the carbon dioxide which traps the heat in the atmosphere preventing it to get out to space.

Climate change is normal but particularly for now it is abnormal. What we can only do is to lessen in doing inappropriate things that could affect the climate change. We must plant more trees, prevent burning anything, do compose pits, throw garbage in right places so that nature's forces won't aggravate us by different phenomena. Let us all make the pledge that we must change for all of God's sake.

Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities

      People are not the same, as we all know. There are those weak, and strong. But how do we define them?

      God created all men equal, as written on the bible. It means male and female, whether black or white, tall or small, thin or fat, good-looking or not. Or, rich or poor. This is a very phenomenon situation to people who others don't accept them by their standards. Just because they only want rich people and no other than. They just want people of the same state- where things are always with them.

      But how do we really define men? Men must have freedom. Men must be gIven jobs equally. Simply, all men must be equal and all men must have equal opportunities. Black or white, tall or small, thin or fat, good-looking or not, there must be equality. Equal rights to live peacefully. Equal rights for freedom. Equal rights for justice. And, Equal opportunities or jobs to have- regardless of gender, color, height, religion and civil status in certain.

      Equal rights, equal opportunites. Let us always remember this. For only equality is what all men wishing for. Let us all be equal!

                        

Going Global Through English Language

 

                      

  It's easy being a person with something that you can be with any kind of person you meet. You can easily communicate with them without hesitation as long as you can express yourself to them.

      English language is a very important thing an individual must have. But not the way that only this language be accustomed to by an individual. In a sense that, English Language is our bridge to communicate with others whose language are of not the same of ours.

      Student like me learn and practise English Language. Though there is no one perfect grammarian in this world, but we try to speak and contruct our sentences eloquently in English. Perfect sentence construction doesn't matter but our atleast-learned English communicating abilities is that matter.

      Whenever and Wherever we go, just here or abroad, we can use English language to have a comprehensive conversation. Of what i've stated above, "English Language is Our Bridge to Communication," we can communicate to anyone freely and globally though English language.

REFLECTION

            Second quarter has come to an end. It was some kind of rush in most of the subjects.  Accomplishing activities and, at the same time, projects that flinched my every skills.

              Our subject, ICT, has been ended this second quarter to a simple yet very important and interesting topic. HTML. Hypertext Mark-up Language is actually the structure editor of a web page. The basic unit code, tag, is really what makes those page. This is just simple and very important to everyone because you will learn how to make web pages as well as knowing how the browser displays the page through the use of HTML. With this I can create my own simple web page for some ways.

                   For me, I can say that my milestone starts from here because of what have been introduced  to me and learned a lot from it. With this milestone, I can show to everybody else that I can withstand every challenges and activities. 

MY TEACHER, MY HERO

                I define teacher as the greatest companion of student. Meaning he/she is the one that accompanies his/her student to happiness, difficulties and adventures of every activities. He/she became my hero because of what he/she has that influences me positive values and abilities, and inspires me to become a succesful one.

                  In school, I happened to know my teacher well. The first time I was about to become his/her student, expectations were floating in mind. Physically, he/she looks very strict and I may not like him/her all the time. But I was wrong. You are good, nice and beautiful inside. You developed me in every aspects- physical, social, mental, moral and spiritual. Like giving me a retarding problem to answer but only to find out it's just so easy as cakewalk that made me realize that everything is possible. You let me exposed to physical activities so that I can improve my physical skills and  abilities like basketball, soccer, etc.. You taught me how to mingle with others properly and interstingly. You showed me the good and bad. Moral aspect and ispiritual aspect to our life, I happened to understand clearly. And, finally, you shared your heart in every single way.
                        You really are my hero, my teacher. You made me into a flinch from being blunt. You developed me as the doors of the world opened for me. I really thank you for everything good you've done and shared to me. My teacher, my hero.
                                                         

SCIENCE: Unravel the causes, Build the solution, Empower Science clubbers in action

                Earth has been given the things what people sought and needed more than enough. Modern technologies were finally discovered and created on Earth for everybody’s needs and wants. Human beings have had faster work and been made to more comfortable state. They have served us in everyday life for boundless time. But see and realize what have been done to Mother Earth. So take still your eyes here for I will witness what Earth has bumped into despair.

                 Can you see our surroundings? How do you feel? Isn't it very pity and bad. You know yourselves. Our planet Earth is billion years old now and we are truly lucky and blessed because people have lived from time to time and we must be very thankful. But what happened now? Plastics here and there. Oh, this electric fan is done- I'll burn it down, it's no use anymore. This is not really a supposed doing. Things that have reached their function span doesn't mean no use anymore. We can make other things or invent out of those. Then the outcome product would be surely functional to us. We can make robot out of non-functioning materials and devices. It's up to us how we will do it. If  everyone of us do this creativity we are prolonging the life of everything and everybody, especially Earth.
                  Being creative what saves and befriends our planet Earth. So let us encourage everyone to know why we must do this and start doing it from now on and forever. 
                                                 

MODERN DAY HERO

                Most of us consider a hero as savior or just who we admire. Children like heroes that have supernatural powers being watched on TV. We, adults, however, consider our hero as the one who makes us inspired, although it’s just an inspiration but also as our guide and support to anything we do.

                 Others consider their own heroes like teacher. There is that called “My Teacher, My Hero.” For me, aside from teachers that I consider as my hero, I consider my family as my hero. Why? Ever since before I was born, they were there to welcome me in this world when I will be about to come out. I am the youngest child my parents have. I am so lucky because they are five that can help me and give advice when I encounter circumstances or challenges. When I'm on difficulty, they will always be there for me. When I am on decision-making, they will always be there for me to give more information than what I know and support me.
                 In the end, I will be succeeding to my future because they have been always behind me to help ,e stand tall when I am about to lose stature because of challenges I encounter at times I seize my success. My hero, my family, will always be my greatest asset and forever they will be. I loved them, I love them and I will always love them and I will never forget them nor put them in despair for they have served me very lot. Because, MY FAMILY is my TREASURE.

BUWAN NG WIKA: Wika Natin Ang Daang Matuwid

     The month of August, we celebrate the Month of Language or the so-called Buwan ng Wika in Filipino. Different themes we use in order to celebrate this month. This month of August, the theme of the month of language is " Wika Natin Ang Daang Matuwid".

     Ang sarili nating wika ay napakalikas sa ating panghabang-buhay na pamumuhay. Tagalog, Bicolano, Visaya, Batangganeo, Cebuano, Pangasinense o Ilocano ay mga wikang maririnig sa iba't ibang dako ng ating bansa. Ang paggamit ng ilan diyan ay ang pinakamadaling paraan upang tayo'y magkaroon ng maganda at mas madaling komunikasyon at magandang samahan sa iba't ibang lahi ng ating bansa. Ginagamit natin ang mga ilan diyan upang makapag-usap, maipakita ng husto ang ating saloobin at anu-ano pa man. Tayo'y nagkakaintindihan sa mga sinasabi natin sa isat't isa.

     Our language is so important to everyone of us before, now and forevermore. We must value and enrich our own language because language is our straight way through success.

REFLECTION

     Aside from being patient in making reactions or paragraphs of different topics, I have learned that the importance of it is that sharing  information or reactions gives a hand to the readers thoughts to everyday life.

     The problems I encountered in making blog posts were the things of how will I start the post specifically the introduction of my draft. Another is that, if how will I make my reaction effective or in other words, in a sensible way.

     How I addressed my problems these problems is that I collected ideas and information first. Then I wrote it on my notebook as draft. Then I  am going to revise the words, phrases or sentences if necessary. That how I made my blog posts effective.

2013 State of the Nation Address of Pnoy

"Let us move on to education. Our goal is to raise the quality of learning that our children undertake, so that once they finish their schooling, they can seize the opportunities now opening up in society: accomplished. We have finally erased the backlog we inherited in books and chairs, and if Secretary Armin Luistro continues to demonstrate true grit, even the backlog we inherited in classrooms will also be erased this year. And there is even more good news: Now, we also have the ability to prepare for the additional needs that the implementation of the K to 12 program will require.

The problems that plagued Brother Armin in the DepEd are no laughing matter. Just think: one textbook used to be priced at 58 pesos; since he assumed office, the price of the exact same textbook has gone down to 30 pesos. What would have happened if we had been paying the proper price from the beginning? If we had saved the difference of 28 pesos for all the books bought, at five textbooks for each of the estimated 20.7 million students in our public school system, the equivalent would amount to almost 2.9 billion pesos. These savings alone could have funded our plans to repair and rehabilitate around 9,502 classrooms.

If Brother Armin didn’t have strength of will, he could have just left this culture of negligence in his agency for his successor to deal with. He could have also left the backlog, as well as the growing gap of needs because of the rising number of enrollees each year. But instead of being content, instead of saying, “This will do. My job is done,” Brother Armin will build even more chairs and classrooms, and will buy even more books, to ensure that even the needs in future years will also be met."

     On that statement about the improvements of education quality it sounds interesting because there is now solution to what we are concerned with every now and then.

     Regarding the backlogs, Sec. Armin Luistro said that this backlogs in books and chairs have been erased. And it's a big news because the students are now comfortable to read their books unlike before that every book every student had was ragged. And students can do their activities on their seats with well-built armchairs. So, the students are problem-free from backlogs now, they can study well now.

     And regarding with the 28 pesos decrease of the book cost is a good news because if Br. Armin didn't have the strength of will, maybe we are still drained to book-cost buying. So, that 28 pesos saving,  is very worth for the fund in repairing and rehabilitating school properties. 

GUTOM AT MALNUTRISYON, SAMSA-SAMA NATING WAKASAN

     "Gutom" or Starvation means suffering form extreme hunger of an individual. And, "Malnutrisyon," Malnutrition, lacking of nutrients needed by our body to build up our energy and abilities to work.
      Throughout our lifetime, we suffer hunger. However, indingents suffer extreme hunger called Starvation. Not all of us suffer malnutrition, but indigents do and even to rich individual, too, because they stick to eating non-nutritious foods and drinks.
      Let us finish these states by preventing or lessening of eating junk foods, meats and fats. Let us do our food pyramid. Like eating green leafy vegetables and fruits, at least three servings of that fruit and five servings of that vegetables daily can make our body healthy and strong. And we must drink atleast eight glasses of water and also milk. So we can end our states in Malnutrition and Starvation.

Letter To President

Dear Mr. President, 

      I am pleased to have this opportunity to send you a letter through e-mail. By the way, I am a senior high school student of Ilocos Sur National High School.

   First and foremost, regarding under your administration to our country, Philippines, I thank and congratulate you as our President. Seemingly and obviously, I think our country has improved and changed, at least. Because of your loyalty and kindness with our senates and department secretaries and other government administrators, they are doing great with you on administrating our country. And I know, administrating country is very hard. It needs wise and precise plans to  keep the performance and the condition of our country good. 

    Everyone has the same concerns as others do. Simply, most of us, Filipino citizens, have the same or common concerns on our country. And may I discuss these then-and-now concerns: Poverty, Population Growth.

     Our dream is to make our country wealthy. But poverty, which we really want to give solution to it is not just a cakewalk to finish or end to make our country independent to problems. Because of poverty some could not get what they want. Like parents. They cannot afford the allowance of their child. And because of lack of budget, their child would decide not to continue studying, instead they will just find minor job/s to gain money. But I want you to know that I am one of you in making plans. I am hoping you can do something noble to lessen our state in poverty.

     Population Growth. How can we prevent the rapid grow of our number? Actually this is uncontrollable by now. But there is something can be done. The cause of this problem is poverty. Because of what have been told above, the child would just find job. And/ or, because of lack of knowledge they would just make family and their ambition would just make and make children. I hope you have a plan to control our population growth.

    All this I hope you are doing your best or will do your best to make our plans successful.
